You will be required to sign a contract at the depot when collecting your bike and the legally binding contract for the hire will be between you and the depot.

The security bond can only be paid by the person hiring the bike or by the spouse (if they can show authorisation). We accept Visa, MasterCard, Bankcard.

Overseas visitors or those holding a foreign licence please note that your motorcycle riders licence from your home country and your international motorcycle riders permit must be produced along with your passport.

Your recent riding experience (model and make) must be of a similar nature to the bike you wish to hire through MTD Tours.

Permission to ride motorcycles provided for hire off road (on any surface) needs to be obtained prior to departure and can be limited to roads recommended by MTD Tours depending on the rental programme you are booking.

To avoid being charged a refill charge and petrol costs the tank should be returned full.

The bike should be returned in a reasonable condition of cleanliness to avoid a cleaning charge.

A signed acceptance of the terms and conditions of hire must be completed before hire can commence. A copy of these conditions are available upon request.

On extended rentals renter must agree to have bike serviced at dealer outlets. This is at MTD Tours cost.

Helmets... It is a condition that you wear an approved crash helmet at all times when riding your motorcycle. MTD Tours strongly encourages you to take your own helmet and cannot accept liability for the condition of any crash helmet provided by third parties.

Full Weekend = 4pm Friday to 10am Monday.

Breach of rental contract terms voids ALL insurance and renter is liable for ALL damage.
Insurance DOES NOT cover - rider for bodily injury

Fortunately bike theft is very rare in Australia and so it is unlikely to be a problem but a locks should be used at all times when leaving the bike.

Loss of rental caused by extensive damage to the motorcycle rendering it unavailable for hire is also not covered.

The balance of the excess is payable if the motorcycle is damaged and/or involved in the unlikely event of an accident.

The full security bond is also the insurance "excess" amount. This is the full extent of the hirer's liability unless the hirer is in breach of the general terms of the Rental Agreement. MTD Tours must be notified as soon as possible and an accident report filled out. Water damage is not covered - standard excess applies.

Personal Travel Insurance ... Personal belongings are not insured and MTD Tours recommend travel insurance be arranged before leaving home. It is vital that you have appropriate travel insurance, which offers cover while motorcycling. MTD Tours its Agents, Assigns and Contractors accept no responsibility for a customer's failure to arrange appropriate cover. Please also note that cover is often void if a helmet is not being worn. We strongly recommend you cover yourself with travel insurance to ensure that if your personal circumstances change and you have to cancel your costs are covered.

MTD Tours, its Agents, Assigns and Contractors accept no responsibility for and shall not be liable in respect of any loss, damage, alterations, delays or changes arising from circumstances outside its or its Contractors' control, such as, but not solely, war or threat of war, riot, industrial dispute, civil strife, fire, adverse weather conditions, terrorist activity, natural and nuclear disaster, technical transport problems, computer malfunction, cancellation of scheduled or charter airlines, closure or congestion of airports or ports, or financial failure of Contractors or depots. On many occasions MTD Tours is acting as an information and booking resource for vetted suppliers. MTD Tours accepts no responsibility for and shall not be liable in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever in relation to the aforementioned circumstances.

At MTD Tours we understand that the choice to cancel an anticipated holiday is sometimes unavoidable. Like any business though, conditions apply if you do wish to or need to cancel.

Cancellation must be received in writing either postal or email.
Any amount above the required booking deposit will be fully refunded.
Should you need to return the bike before the end of your booked time, for whatever reason, no refund will be provided.

We provide booking insurance so that you can transfer your booking to another date, not more than 30 days from the original booking date, without losing your booking fee. This can be for any reason e.g. bad weather, sickness or just if you do not feel like riding on that date.

Motorcycles can be dropped off at most major destination in Australia, only for hire periods of 14 days or longer.

There will be a one way fee depending on the cities you choose to ride between and the time of year and so we will need to quote specifically for your journey but as a guide you can expect a cost of about:

Parking tickets, speeding fines and other penalties. A AU$50 fee may be imposed for the handling of unpaid fines.
Fuel (except on guided tours). A AU$20 charge applies to motorcycles returned without a full tank.

Please note: This allows for up to 10,000 kilometres per hire period after which a 10c/km charge will apply.

We understand holiday timetables are apt to change so pick up and return outside these hours can be arranged on an individual basis.

Though schedule changes happen all bikes are booked into servicing after every hire so late returns will incur a AU$15 per hour late fee charge.

MTD Tours have late model, fully serviced motorcycles, however if minor repairs of up to AU$50 are required, this is allowable without authorisation. Above this figure please contact us for authorisation and the location of the nearest repair centre.

Regular oil checks and chain lubing and adjustment are the responsibility of the renter.
